Tommy Lee

June 27, 2007 at 5:20 pm (Rock)

My friend, Tony Kuzminski, has blogged about Tommy Lee and the Motley Lawsuit.  It is a great read, click here.  We plan to post a Top 20 list by Tony on Talking Metal real soon.

We interviewed 24-7 Spyz last night here in NYC. Great guys.  Their new album Face the Day is now up on iTunes.  Bumblefoot co-produced the album and Doug from King’s X does a song on it too.

I did a shoot with Derren Brown on Monday.  He has a great new show coming to the Sci Fi Channel on July 26th.  It is called Mind Control.

David is back in Van Halen…    reall

She has dropped those extra pounds and is back in ultra-thin rocker mode….

Check out this site for some cool Courtney Love downloads on the left under media – HERE.

I know this chick is a nut job but I love her. I am excited to hear that she is starting to rock again. I was a big Hole fan back in the day and I also loved her last solo album – America’s Sweetheart.

Say what you want about her, the bottom line is she always delivers some good songs.

Download these cuts off iTunes today: “Hello” and “Mono” by Courtney Love. Both are great tracks.

As I have said before, one thing that makes Rock N Roll exciting is being unpredictable and slightly insane. Courtney is both.

The new Queens Of The Stone Age album is really good.  One of the best of 2007.

METAL!!!! Finally posted episode 153 of the Talking Metal Podcast. This show is 100% metal. It is like 90 mins.

Ken Andrews (formerly of Failure) has a great new CD out called The Secrets Of The Lost Satellite. Check it out.

Just got off the phone with Jimi from the great 24-7 Spyz. Trying to get an interview booked with him for an upcoming episode. The Face the Day album should be coming to iTunes real soon.

It has been 1,618 days since President Bush stood underneath a “Mission Accomplished” banner and announced that “Major combat operations have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.” and guess what????, we still don’t have Chinese Democracy.

I once saw Ike Willis play all 3 parts of Joe’s Garage with a Zappa cover-band at the Lions’ Den in NYC. IT had to be 8 years ago… maybe more. I was with my brother and his girlfriend (now his ex-wife). This is their son.

and my 4 year old nephew.

Nothing like good celebrity legal drama… I love this stuff. Run, Paris, run… we need a nice little car chase down 405.

God bless TMZ!

I have been having trouble posting photos on this blog… I would like to do more of it. I have a MAC and I think this wordpress blog works best with a PC… might be part of the problem.

I left my cell phone at home today so don’t bother trying to call me… send an e-mail instead. It totally sucks to not have the cell. I feel all weird and helpless. The ring tone on my cell is “2 Minutes To Midnight.” This is one of Iron Maiden’s greatest songs ever. Powerslave is a wonderful album that I don’t hear people talk about as much as Piece Of Mind or Killers. I would have to say my Top 5 Maiden albums are:

5. Somewhere In Time

4. Powerslave

3. Number Of The Best

2. Killers

1. Piece Of Mind

Who is hisroyalsweetness anyway? 2007 will be the year of Del James.

Del was hired by Lonn Friend when he was running RIP. There are some interesting facts about him on Wikipedia. I met him at the GnR Jersey show. Seemed like a nice guy to me. He was fascinated by my wife’s Chinese Democracy patch that she has on her coat.

I guess I should NOT call things on Wikipedia facts because I have seen a bunch of stuff on there that is totally wrong. It seems like anyone can update it so it is bound to have a bunch of things that are wrong.

OK…. I got to get back to work so I can pay someone to mow my lawn.

Paris is out of jail already… apparently she did not like the food.

Chinese Democracy where are you?

Kiss need to hang it up. Please no more shows. No more music. It is time to say goodnight and let your Kisstory shine.

I believe Van Halen can still deliver the goods. Reunion tour needed now. Please include Michael.

I would like for Prince to release a vintage classic album in the style of Purple Rain…. he needs to go retro in the studio not just on stage.

Another Prince movie would be amazing… where is Morris Day when you need him?

The new Metallica CD has a chance of being something good. I believe the cards are in place for this next album.

Children Of Bodom are at a critical point in their career. I believe the right album within the next year could turn them into arena superstars. I would love to see them work with a radio friendly producer. They need to make their version of the Black Album. This band has the potential to be huge.

Don’t get tattoos of living rock stars because your opinion of them will change over time and the chances of them doing something you don’t believe in are high.

U2 are reteaming with collaborators Eno and Lanois for their next album.  They have made some killer albums together.

if you wish to donate to my paypal, here is the address: mds1119us@yahoo.com Beer money is welcome and of course you will get a toast on the podcast.
TRACK OF THE DAY: Paris is Burning – by Dokken… one of their best songs.

I am looking forward to the new Queens Of The Stone Age and the new Spoon. 2 great bands that put out music that I consider to be real art.

We got a cool quote from Bam regarding Children Of Bodom. Check it out in the news section of our site.

If you do not know Casey Chaos and his band Amen, do yourself a favor, download some of his music on iTunes. He is one of the greatest punkrockers of all-time.

I have been watching Hereos on my iPod. I know the season is already over but I am only on episode 4. It is a solid show. I am enjoying it. When I was working at Comic Con NYC earlier this year I met the girl who plays the cheerleader, although at that time I had no clue who she was.

It is a nice cool day here in NYC today.

more lies…

June 5, 2007 at 10:19 pm (Rock)

Once again, half the shit you hear and read about Talking Metal on these messageboards and other shows is total BS.

The only place to really stay connected to our podcast is our forum.

Just because you saw something on the news or you read it in a book doesn’t mean that it is fact.  Think for yourself.

Some sites print BS stories about the bands you love just it get hits.  Talking Metal doesn’t do that.

The 2 bounce tracks for the Japan version of Ozzy’s Black Rain are really pretty good.

Just picked up the new Paul McCartney on emusic.com and it is great.  I think it is much better then his last album (which got great reviews probably due to Godrich producing)

Weather you like Paul solo, with Wings or the Beatles, this album has something for you.- pick up Memory Almost Full.
