Dave back in Van Halen?

January 26, 2007 at 4:25 pm (Uncategorized)

reviewjournal.com seems to think so:

A Van Halen reunion tour, with David Lee Roth back in the fold after 22 years, is in the works, with a Las Vegas launch looking good.

A late April date at the Palms’ new venue, The Pearl, is “99 percent” likely, a source said.

Tomorrow we hang out with Bumblefoot. Hope to post a new interview with he and his wife on Monday. We will post a new episode with listener letters later today.

Band members are saying recording is done but still no “official” release date. Remember March 6th was called “tentative.”

There is always mixing and mastering… I will try to find out more info this weekend.

Stayed tuned to the Talking Metal Podcast…. we don’t have to call it “Countdown To Chinese Democracy” to have GnR talk.

There is a new interview with drummer Brain on Eat My Silkworms

Got my Heaven and Hell tickets this morning through the presale – Row H in the orchestra section!

Today is Saturday

January 14, 2007 at 3:33 am (Rock)

I finally got around to writing “Thank You” notes to my family for all the gret Christmas gifts my wife and I got this past holiday. I am sipping a nice martini and chill out in my PJs. There are so many great shows in the works for the Talking Metal podcast. DO NOT MISS our Talking Metal Black Sabbath specials. They will be great listens.

I just met up with Guns N Roses’ guitarist Bumblefoot in NYC at the Gibson guitar show room. He is back on the East Coast and was in need of a Gibson guitar. Gibson is the best sounding guitar hands down. I run my Gibson through a few Boss pedals into a Bogner “Shiva” head and 2×12 Cab – sounds amazing. Speaking of my music… I am “Captain T” and for the past 4 years I have been playing in a band called Ronin. Our new album comes out next week. Come check us out live on Wednesday.

Sean and Lucy!!!

January 10, 2007 at 10:17 pm (Rock)

It snowed briefly this morning in Jersey City… 1st snow I have seen all winter.

Apparently, The Roxy is not in Burbank… it is in Hollywood  – 9009 W. Sunset Blvd. – Lucy Lawless is there 1/13 and 1/14 singing with her band.

I copied and pasted the following off the message boards on Here Today Gone To Hell

not sure if it is true or not…

“coming back from break they played Sweet Child, in which conservative talk show host Sean Hannity says that Appetite is “one of the greatest rock n roll albums ever.” He also said Axl Rose is the opposite of everything he ever stood for yet he is still a huge fan….Hannity then went on to say “We are still awaiting GNR’s next album, which is due out in 37 years” …haha got a kick out of that one…. Hannity’s show is the second most listened to show in the nation…pretty cool to mention the new record on there….”

Everyone loves GnR be them libs or conserves… Chinese Democracy is coming.

Heaven and Hell…AKA BLACK SABBATH is coming… will there be a NYC warm-up show?  That is the rumor.  More Sabbath news coming to the podcast soon!

Don’t steal music!

let me get this blog going again…

January 9, 2007 at 10:24 pm (Rock)

We just recorded another “e-mail” episode of Talking Metal. Look for it to be posted sometime next week. The Talking Metal podcast received a mention in the new Q Magazine (UK edition) and we will also be in the next Total Guitar magazine.

I am really hoping for Chinese Democracy on March 6th but I am also being realistic about the whole thing. Axl called this date “tentative” and we still have no official date from the label. It sounds like the band is still tweaking things in the studio.

Thanks for all the phone calls on last week’s live shows… the live thing is still a whole new world for us. It is really fun.

check it out at our LIVE site.  talkingmetallive.com

SAXON frontman Biff Byford will appear as a special guest on Nicky Horne’s show on the U.K.-based national digital radio station Planet Rock on Wednesday, January 10 at approximately 20:00 GMT. You can listen to the program online via www.planetrock.com.

My band, Ronin, will have a new CD out next week. Please consider buying it. It is Rock with doom metal, stoner, progressive and funk elements.

Please do me a favor and click this link to Go Daddy. Ever click helps.

JD from BLS will be on the next episode of Talking Metal. Should be posted by Friday of this week.

I just got Sirius for Christmas. It is so awesome to have HOWARD back in my life. I started listening to him at 17 on 94FM in Philly been a devoted fan ever since! I am also enjoying Ian Christi’s show on Hard Attack.

A new amazing episode of Battlestar hits on Jan. 21st at 10pm on Sci Fi. I just did some work with Lucy Lawless on a new BSG promo… look for it on-air on Sci Fi. Catch Lucy singing at the Roxy in Burbank, CA on 1/13 and 1/14.
